Institutions who perform sponsored research are continually facing challenges in accurately managing grant financial activities. A number of GeorgiaFIRST users are not comfortable with the functionality and business processes rolled in v8.9 of PeopleSoft around grants management. As a result, OIIT has scheduled a workshop where all sponsored research analysts can fill knowledge gaps, obtain scenario-based training, and participate in interactive question and answer sessions.

Workshop Objectives:

• Identify how to setup grants in PeopleSoft
• Discuss known reporting and process-related issues
• Examine the intracacies of the ProjectSync process
• Determine the requirements for establishing budgets for your grants (including cost sharing)
• Discuss the best methods for review grant spend
• Review existing allocation steps and allocation drivers
• Discuss project/grant closure requirements

• Please register each person who will be attending from your institution; training certificates will be provided following the workshop
• A final email confirmation will be sent no later than September 29, 2009 with a map and parking pass included
